Conclusions The cold winter of 2010
I keep a picture of a gun "Sapphire" to symbolize the Winter 2010. These recent installations guarantee economic activity, and good skiing in Zinal. They allow competitors to offer a training ground guaranteed. A wonder!
With half of the cumulative rainfall during the previous winter, it's hard to complain about this season. The persistent cold and the passage of a procession of sterile disturbances have at least kept the little snow fell. Without 49cm, 30 November, the slopes without artificial snow would probably experienced long periods of closure.
But luck has helped! The Combe Durand all natural, remained perfect. The track on Zinal has even been reopened for the Easter holidays despite the episode of the equinox. Linking to Grimentz by Tsirouc , which runs through large boulders, was ready for the Carnival. If conditions do not allow access to the public, have benefited freerides until 18 April.
Side avalanches, the station has saved its ammunition. But the episodes showed that thickness of the mantle is not a primary factor in assessing risk. The thaw of the equinox reported in a previous section will remain the main memory of a season rather easy. Avalanches Spring Guards Bordon are common.
